Questions, answered.
What Outlook permissions does Synced need?
Read access to the folders you choose, nothing else. Send access only if you enable drafted replies, such as asking a supplier for a missing invoice number. Revoke it any time from your Microsoft 365 admin or account settings.
Does Synced read personal emails in my connected mailbox?
No. Synced processes only the folders you tell it to watch. Everything else in the mailbox is never accessed.
How do I pause scanning?
Toggle the Outlook connection off in the Synced dashboard. Scanning stops at once, and nothing is processed until you turn it back on.
How do I disconnect entirely?
One click in Synced, or an admin can revoke the app in Microsoft 365's Enterprise applications settings. Captured documents stay in Synced for your audit log; future emails are never touched.
Does this work with Microsoft 365 shared mailboxes?
Yes. Delegated access and shared mailboxes are supported, common in accounts payable and expense workflows.
